Buenos Días a todos. FELIZ NAVIDAD, MERRY CHRISTMAS, y aún lo sigo diciendo y deseando a todos, cuando nos encontramos...

¡ Merry Christmas.....!!!

ACLARACIONES que debemos conocer sobre la época de la NAVIDAD...

Hoy 26 de Diciembre, un día después del Dia 25 de Diciembre, Día del nacimiento de Jesús y celebramos la Navidad.....seguimos diciendo FELIZ NAVIDAD por muchos más días.

Pero vamos a aclarar las cosas, y decir por qué nosotros los católicos, y algunas iglesias cristianas,  CONTINUAMOS celebrando la Navidad, y por tanto no quito mi arbolito, ni mis adornos, ni luces, etc.

Aunque a decir verdad podemos quitar todos los adornos que queramos, menos el Niño Jesús. Es por eso que un Niño Jesús bendecido, permanece en la mesita del centro, en la sala de mi casa todo el año, cada día.... 

La Navidad comienza en Nochebuena y termina doce días después con la Fiesta de la Epifanía. Nochebuena [24 de Diciembre] es la Vigilia antes del día de Navidad. La solemnidad de la Encarnación en el día de Navidad [25 de Diciembre] celebra la venida de Jesús como Dios y hombre.

 

 

La liturgia de la Iglesia Católica señala que la Navidad no es solo un día, ese 25 que escogemos para celebrarlo aunque no fuera ese preciso día, pero lo celebramos más o menos alrededor de esa fecha, sino una temporada completa que dura desde la víspera de Navidad, el 24 de diciembre, hasta la fiesta del Bautismo del Señor (generalmente el domingo después de la Epifanía). El Bautismo del Señor concluye la celebración del tiempo navideño. Esta fiesta celebra que, antes de iniciar su ministerio público, Jesús se dejó bautizar por San Juan Bautista.

 

 

 

Tradicionalmente, los católicos no quitan sus árboles de Navidad y adornos navideños hasta el 7 de enero , el día después de la Epifanía que se celebra el 6 de Enero, la visita de los Magos de Oriente: Merchor, Gaspar y Baltasar..... Los 12 días de Navidad comienzan el día de Navidad, 25 de Diciembre; el período anterior a ese día, se conoce como Adviento, que es el tiempo de preparación para la Navidad, el nacimiento de Jesús. 

 

 

En EEUU y en Canada, comenzamos a decorar y a sentir el espíritu navideño desde la fiesta de Thanksgiving o Día de Acción de Gracias, a Dios, que es una fecha histórica nacional de ambos países, que celebra la cosecha y otras bendiciones del año pasado. Los estadounidenses generalmente creen que su Día de Acción de Gracias sigue el modelo de una fiesta de la cosecha de 1,621 compartida por los colonos ingleses (peregrinos) de Plymouth y el pueblo Wampanoag [indios]. y Dieron gracias a Dios por llegar a una tierra donde vivir y profesar su fe. Ambas fechas, la de Acción de Gracias y la Navidad, tienen orígenes religiosos, aunque hoy en día muchos solo ven el comercialismo, y los adornos seculares. 

 

La fiesta de Navidad comienza alrededor de las cuatro de la tarde de Nochebuena, Diciembre 24, y continúa hasta la Epifanía del 6 de enero. Pero contrariamente a la creencia popular, la temporada navideña en realidad continúa hasta el Día de la Candelaria el 2 de febrero , por lo que no hay ninguna razón real por la que debas quitar las decoraciones antes. Esta tradición de no quitar los adornos navideños la observan tradicionalmente algunos ingleses desde tiempos Medievales. 

 

La Candelaria es la Purificación de la Virgen María. El 2 de Febrero, la Iglesia católica rinde homenaje a la Virgen de La Candelaria o Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria (velas, luces, candelas, CANDLES). La festividad refleja a Cristo como la luz del mundo presentada por Su Madre en el templo, y cómo viene a iluminar a todos al igual que las luces de las velas o las candelas. Esta fiesta cristiana marca el regreso de la luz, símbolo de protección y prosperidad, conmemora la presentación de Jesús en el Templo de Jerusalén, refiriéndose a Él como la luz del pueblo de Israel.

Christmas starts on Christmas Eve and ends twelve days later with the Feast of the Epiphany. Christmas Eve [December 24] is the Vigil before Christmas Day. The Solemnity of the Incarnation on Christmas Day [December 25] celebrates the coming of Jesus as God and man.

The liturgy of the Catholic Church points out that Christmas is not just one day, the 25th that we choose to celebrate even if it were not that very day, but we celebrate it more or less around that date, but a full season that lasts from Christmas Eve, the 24th December, until the feast of the Baptism of the Lord (usually the Sunday after Epiphany).
